All’angolo tra Via Trieste e Via Agostino Gallo esiste una statua lignea di un bue, dorata, posta su un baldacchino anch’esso di legno. Come mai? Una leggenda dice che nei pressi della piazzetta Giovanni Labus esisterebbe sepolto un bue d’oro zecchino. a tal proposito si ricorda che in questi luoghi fu ritrovata la bronzea Vittoria Alata… Ma una storia più veritiera racconta che che nei paraggi vi era la bottega di un macellaio il quale, diventato ricco grazie alla vendita di carne, volle ringraziare la buona sorte con la statuetta dorata. Il Bue di legno subì, negli anni ‘60 anche un incidente e venne strappato da un camionista inesperto. I fratelli Bettini vetrai e corniciai però rimisero in sesto il Bue d’orato.
